Fall colors make for a spectacular wedding!

Weddings are always a time of emotion. Kylie and Cody held true to that standard for their fall wedding.

Joy, laughter, tears, happiness, sadness and much more.

When Kylie and Cody first booked with us, we had no idea what kind of wild roller coaster her wedding planning would end up being. The sadness took the form of Cody’s mother passing away unexpectedly. She was definitely not forgotten and everyone knew she was there in spirit.

Spectacular Location

Originally planned for farm wedding. Then a very small wedding with only family. Finally a big celebration down in Pana at Oak Terrace Resort & Spa.

If you’ve never been there, it’s worth visiting. South of Pana, home to a huge golf course, a spa and a resort. Beautiful spot in Central Illinois.

Better shot

Cody, an avid hunter, found himself bagged by a bride who not only knows how to hunt, but is rumored to be a better shot. Well, that’s what was agreed upon during the Shoe Game run by the DJ from Clinton’s own Always Jammin’ DJ Service and Light Show.

I won’t get into the debate. The only thing I know how to shoot is a camera. I’d ask them who the better shot is.

The day was perfect . . . warm but not hot . . . a little clouds to break up the bright blue sky and some breezes. It was so easy finding picturesque scenes around Lakeview Spa. It was a matter of putting the bride in pretty places and shooting in her gorgeous wedding dress. The dress was from David’s Bridal and designed by Oleg Cassini.

Crazy Drama

Of course, wedding week presented a bit of crazy drama. The original officiant cancelled that Monday before. Kylie’s Aunt Jenny took on the role of officiant, getting her certificate just that week to perform the ceremony. Her first wedding and she did an absolutely awesome job!

I have to mention the nights festivities. This was the first wedding I ever went to that definitely could get the whole group on a complete sugar high. A cupcake bar, candy bar, popcorn bar plus an ice cream/slushy bar. That was fun!

Supporting Cast

Have to mention a few of the other vendors who made this day spectacular — the pumpkins and gourds scattered all over the place came from Wagon Wheel Pumpkin Farm in Clinton. Some of the very special cupcakes and the wedding cake were created by Janet’s Cakes in Bloomington. And the clothes the boys wore actually came from Big R in Springfield — making for the very casual style worn by the groom and groomsmen.

Kylie had some special boots just for her from Ritzy-Gypsy Boutique/Gypsy Boots.

Check out the photos to see all the color they had, a true fall wedding!
